Addiction and Psychedelics

Working at the intersection without collapsing one into the other

Many people exploring psychedelics are also navigating complex relationships with substances. At the same time, many addiction treatment models are not designed to meaningfully engage with psychedelic use. This creates a gap where people are often left to move between two worlds without a coherent way of understanding how they relate to one another. Our work begins here.

Holding complexity, rather than simplifying it

We do not approach psychedelics as a solution to addiction. We do not treat substance use as a failure that disqualifies someone from exploration. Instead, we stay with the complexity of how substances function in a person’s life. This includes the roles they have played, the needs they have met, and the conditions that sustain them. From this place, we can begin to consider what role, if any, psychedelics may have—without inflating their promise or dismissing their potential.

A process that unfolds over time

This work is not centered on a single experience. It unfolds gradually. It includes preparing for experiences with realistic expectations, attending to the environments and relationships that shape outcomes, and building forms of support that extend beyond any one moment. It also involves making sense of what emerges without overinterpreting it, allowing insight to take shape slowly and become part of daily life.

Beyond a single definition of recovery

We are not oriented around abstinence unless that is something you are choosing. We are not oriented around psychedelic evangelism or the pursuit of breakthrough experiences. Instead, we focus on creating the conditions in which you can understand your patterns more clearly, expand your range of choices, and build support that can hold meaningful change over time.

A steady, grounded approach

This is a steady, grounded process. One that takes both addiction and psychedelics seriously—without collapsing one into the other.
