VOCAL-NY is a statewide grassroots membership organization that builds power among low-income people affected by HIV/AIDS, the drug war, mass incarceration, and homelessness. Their work is rooted in community organizing, leadership development, advocacy, and direct action, with a long history of advancing harm reduction and social justice in New York.

Cardea has an ongoing partnership with VOCAL-NY focused on supporting its leadership, staff, and organizational community. We provide consultation to VOCAL-NY’s leadership team and facilitate several retreats throughout the year, creating dedicated time and space for staff to step outside the demands of their daily work, strengthen relationships, reflect together, and reconnect with their shared purpose.

Our work together is designed in response to the evolving needs of the organization. Through retreats and ongoing consultation, we support VOCAL-NY in caring for the people, relationships, and organizational culture that sustain its work over time.
